Atr. James-C. Briden, n very old. settler, died at his residence-in Hall Street, Mastertou, on- Thursday, • aged 80. "He was born at Camden Town, London, and follplved a seafaring .life for ,many -years. He came to,. New -.Zealand- -in tie-'early 'fifties,.settlingJii Napier/where he-was ono of the- founders- of the Working Men's Club.
