MANAWATU A. AND P. ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL SMOKE CONCERT. (By Telegraph—Special' Correspondent.) Palmerston North, June 19. About three hundred agriculturists were present at tho annual smoko concert of tho Manawatu A. and P. Association, which ivas held at ' Palmerston North this evening. Those present included Sir James Allen and the Hon. "\V. D. S. Mao Donald, Mr. '.' A. Nash, Dr. Reakes, and Mr. D. Caddie. A' lengthy toast li<st was honoured, and interesting' references mado to various agricultural topics. Responding to the tonst of "Parliament," Sir James Allen said that it had been in existence longer than usual, mid many people were tired, and wanted to get rid of it. Well, they would very soon have a chance to get rid of it. Pasing on, the Ministers referred to tho great pnrt the producres of New Zealand had plaved during tho war. The Hon. W. D. S. MaeDonnld also spoke at some length of several misapprehensions on the part of certain speakers at the nnmial mooting of tho National Dairy Assooiation, and various speakers made pointed reference to the increased growth and popularity of the Manawatu A, and P- Association.
