Hartatone. Mangarawa, tVoodville, on Monday. The pedigree cows were a nice lot, but, as muni , were backward calvere, prices wero not as .good as wee expected. Buyers were present from Manawatu, Dannevii'Ke, and Wairarapa, diatricts,' the highest price being paid by Ilr. IJ. 11. Manning, of Maharahara, for the pe4igreo cow CaDaletta,. which reullsed 65 guineas. Others ranged from 15 to 55 guineas; the latter being paid for Belmont Grey Girl, which Mr. T. Court, a new local breeder, bought. The pedigree cows averaged 33 guineas, the levcn yearling to fourteenmonth heifers selling from U to 35 guineae, averaging Ul guineas per head. Bulls Bold at from 10 10 25 ~-uineae; grade cowa and heifers were keenly sought niter, the two cowe mak'iug £17 15s. aim £23 10e. Springing two-yrar iicifers sold at from £11 to 15 guineae, the nino head making, an average of .£l3 2s. 6d. Sundries anil implements realised good clearing sale rates. The Mow Zealand Loan Mid Mercantile Agency Company,- Ltd., report that ,at their Levin yards cu Tuesday they offered a good entry; of toth sheep and cattle. Sheep showed a. further recovery in price, and competition was good. They quote:— Medium hit eweb, 25e. 4A,, fai woolly sheep, £2 135.; fat lamb 6, 21s. 3d.; fat and forward owes, 225. 6d.; atoro ewes, 145.; good woolly netner lumbd, 17s. 9d. to 18s. 9d.; medium, do., 13s. 2d.; cull do., 6s. to 9s. Id.; potter rams, 33b.; iight fat cowa, £8 to £9 2s. 6d.; empty store heifers, £4 Us.; vealer6, £3 95.; forward condition, £6 Bs. to £7; Btore do., £4 9b. to £5 75.; yearling ateor3, £4 IDs.; spring calving cowe, £10; heifers do., £10; wcaner calves, 28b. to 30s.
