At (ho Wellington Education Board meeting yesterday the chairnmn (Mr. T. Fors.ytn) stressed the need for hostel accommodation for students and young teachers in. Wellington. Any sort of accoinmoilniion was scarce, but when :t coukl be obtained it was' usually at a rate too high for students.

On the recommendation of the oxeentive committee the following resolution wns carried:- "That the board ascertain what the intentions of the Government are in relation to the question of nro.vidinif a hostel for students and voiiiiiteachers, and, in the event of the Government's haying.decided to take no action, that the board and , Teachers' In■stitiito, ..by joint rep.resental.ion, present to'the-Minister of Education- the urgent need for suitable' hostel accommodation Jbr students artd young teachers."
