CHARGE OF THEFT. By Talccriinli—l'rrss Asnocintlon. Duncdin, .Tu.no 18. ' Al the Police Court to-day Charlci James Arnold was charged with theft of £\W, tho properly of Albert Hodge, a bookmaker. Tho case for tho pro'-iiciilion was that accused asked Hodgo for cluingb of a .£lO note in an hotel, and that the latter gave three .£SO notes, one ,£lO note, and six singles. Complainant admitted that when he started to count the notes he referred to the J550 notes, but still included them in tho lot he gave tho accused. Ho saw the accused next day, and the latlor denied having the' money. Accused was committed for trial, bail being allowed in for his own recognisanoe, and one 6eoority of <£100.
