I'HOFOSAL TO ERECT FACTOKY AT » HONUOTBA. (Special Correspondent.) Palmerston North, Juno 10. A largely attended meeting of settlers was held at Kongotea last week at tho instance of the Kongotea Dairy Company to consider the question of establishing adried milk factory in tho district. .Mr. AY. Darragh, chairman of the company, presided. Messrs. Matheson, C. Miu*jy, and Simihonds addressed tho meeting ami gave some very interesting particulars regarding the manufacture of dried milk, pointing out what had been done in this connection in tho Waikato district, and'explaining how the establishment of a factory lor tho manufacture of the product.would enhance the valuo of tho land in the district. Mr. H. J. Lancaster, chairman of tho Glen Oroua Dairy Company, also addressed the meeting. It was announced that Mr. H. E. Pucey, of Auckland, would be visitiug the district this week in connection with the proposal. The meeting was unaminously in favour of the establishment of a dried milk facto*/, and a committee, comprising four directors from tho-Kongo-tea Dairy Company and four from the Glen Oroua Company, was set up to obtain further information and report to another meeting to be held at an early date.
