DETERMINED SUICIDE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christc'nurch, June IG. A ycung man named Thomas Hood had been' missing from the farm of his uncle at Rakaia since Juno 6. Yesterday his body was found in four feet of water'in an irrigation stream. There were stones in the pockets and a kerosene tin containing stones tied by a wire round (lis neck. On the bunk were his watch and a few last messages. Deceased was 16 years of age, and his parents reside at Edcndale, Otago. He left with the Main Body, and was at the landing on Gal. lipoli. Being subsequently wounded in the shoulder, he returned to New Zea. land about two years ago. DEATH FROM FRACTURED. SKULL. Auckland, June IS. Thomas Halloran, aged 35, single, was\ found on the footpath in Lome Street/ having apparently fallen and fractured his skull. He' died in the hospital, ANOTHER CASE OF ASPHYXIATION. Auckland, June .18. Mrs. Elizabeth Flynn was found dead at her residence, Franklin Road, with a coat over her face and a rubber tube attached to a gas mask near her mouth. Sho had evidently been asphyxiated. She had been despondent since ' an illness during- the Influenza epidemic. SHOOTING FATALITY. Ashburton, June 18. Ernest Allan Hatchard, aged 19, a returned soldier, formerly a resident of Sydenham, and recently employed in this district, went hnro shooting" yesterday morning, and was found in. tha evening with the top of his head blown oft. SUICIDE ON TOP OF MOUNT EDEN. Auckland, June 16, Charles Theodore Victor Campbell, aged 31 years, a coachwright, of Invereargilf, committed suicide to-cjay on top of Mount Eden, Deceased was visiting his brother, both being returned soldiers. When on Mount Eden ho made some excuse and left his brother for a lnoment. When the latter went in search of him-ho found deceased had cut a main artery in his left arm with a razor. He died r.'most immediately.
