In an interview, Commander Tower, of N.C.4, said: "I predict that within five years there will be a chain of international lightships, each being a meteorological station, which will patrol the ocean along tho trans-ocean air route. This will iiieaii a large initial expenditure, btit will be well worth while, as the lightships will be able to aid vessels as well as airships. Such n patrol would put trans-Atlantic flying (.n a. substantial 'basis. Tho first chain could ho established via the Azores, 6inco that is tho best flying course, but a chain between Newfoundland and Ireland is also practicable.
