THE LATE MR. F. V. WATERS
MEMORIAL WINDOWS UNVEILED,
' In spite of tho inclement weather goal congregation attended the unveiling of the memorial windows to tho late Mr. F. V- Waters in St. Mary's Church, Karon, yesterday morning. The service was fully choral. The Bishop of Wellington (Dr.Sprott) presided over the dedication, assisted by the Rev. G. Y. Woodward, vicar of Sat. Mary's. In unveiling tho windows tho Bishop said: "In tho faith of Jesus Christ we dedicate those windows to iho glory of God and in memory of His servant, Frederick Valentino Waters, m the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost.—Anion." Tho text of the sermon was Her. v., 11-14 and during his discourse the Bishop referred to the late Mr. Waters. Ihe Bishop said he had dedicated the windows to tho memory of one who was a friend of tho congregation and of Ins-a friend lie had known for, byenty-seven veal's, and lie had retained that friendship. The windows were most appropriate, one of them representing David ot old, not as a king, not as a warrior, but as a poet and singer, tho sweet singer or Israel. The name of David was at tnq head of tho greatest collection of poems the world had ever known-the Psalms. They wero hymns of praise and adoration to God. The other window represented St. Cecilia—a Roman virgin-who was martyred in Sicily in A.D. 1(7, and Mas the patroness of music.
