Napier, June ,12. At the Supreme Court to-day Lyell Henry was found not guilty of indecent aseault on a. girl of six years. A meeting of leaseholders to-night do cided to.form a Consumers'' Association to protect their interests, and called on the Government to take steps to reduce tho cost of living. A special meeting of returned soldiers passed the following resolution:—"That this meeting of the N.E.S.A. emphatically protests against any attempts made by religious speakers to eauso dissension in ■the N.Z.R.S.A., and upholds Mr. Seymour in his attitude toward tnis mischiefmaking section of the community." At a public meeting ( in the Municipal Theatre th« following resolution was carried:—"That a vigorous programme of railway construction' for the North Island be urged upon the Government, and to this nnd wo join with Auckland and Taranaki in insisting upon the immediate and vigorous prosecution of the, lines already authorised or commenced, more particularly the ■ East Coast railway linking up Napier and Gisborne."
