TOWN BELT AT PIRIE STREET SUGGESTED. At Thursday's meeting of tho City Council the Reserves Committee reported: "That they have received a letter from the Now Zealand Snorts Protection League, dealing' '■.among: , .other matters with the proposed reserve at Pirie Street and the completion of Central and Anderson Parks. The committee have railed instructions for a ieport and estimates to be framed by the City Engineer with regard to the suitability of the ground on the Town Belt at l J h'ie Street for any of: (a) Children's playground; (b)' tennis courts; (c) general 'sports grounds. "With regard to Central and,Anderson Parks, the committee recommend that provision be made for this work in connection with the loan proposals which may be submitted to the ratepayers." The committeo also.reported that they are obtaining a report from the Director of Reserves on the question of the extension of the municipal golf links at Berhampore,
