FARMERS AND THE COST OF LIVING
Sir ,—Twelve months ago I paid &: 12s Gd. for a pair of gabardine knickerbockers, and M is. for an ordinary sports coat. These articles, made of the same material, cost at the present time JM 9s. and £5 10s. respectively. Who is receiving this ineerased profit? The tarmer is not. Salaries and wages are continually being raised to meet the increased cost of living. Is it not time the farmer received more than the commandeer price for his wool and mutton for the same purpose?-I am. < etc., ■ LAllur.uA i>
