Very soon, then, our demobilised voung men will he invited to exchange their khaki for the dazzling raiment never seen in this country outside the music-hall stage in London, and the land-iiiK-stflße at Liverpool—with its gener-ously-upholstered shoulders, iU waistcurves, and the boggy peg-top trousers, "lien's Wear," the journal which predicts this forthcoming American invasion, says:—"The-men's wear -trade .is to be specially favoured, and American Roods are promised us iu large quantities. The public will buy them readily enough, we are told, owing to their siiperipr finish and novelty. The British manufacturer is slow and expensive, disinclined to tnke up new tilings, urn! contemptuous of such auxiliaries as large-scale advertising, neat packing, smartly decorated wrappers, and so on. The Americans will show us that these things count, and aru confident that they can win their way into our market on the basis of merit and efficiency."
