JOHNSONVILLE TOWN BOARD

The monthly meeting of the Johneonville Town Board was held on Tuesday night. Messrs. I\ T. Moore (chairman), S.- Bryant, ■&. Hastings, W. Morpath, W. Skinner,' and Captain Diinbar Sloane were prosdnt. On the motion oi Commissioner Bryant v. newly -elected member (Captain Dunbar Sloane) was welcomed to the board. The board resolved to acquire under the Public Works Act GG acres Lrood 20 perches of Mr. Robert Boul's land, and 1 acre 1 rood 20 perches of Mr. Henry Tuiino's land for a water catchment area. Mr. Brigliam, engineer for the Karori Borough Council, was directed to call forthwith for tenders for the erection of a mass formation concrete dam for a reservoir on these lands. The clerk was directed to inform residents tlmt the poor quality of gas supplied was due to no stocks of benzolino boiuj obtainable; aleo that tlio Board of Trade had been asked for supplies without success beyond fiomo ten cases, which only lasted a weok. At the request of the Jolinsonville Patriotic Society the chairman of the board agreed to call a iiablic meeting for next Wednesday niglit to consider raising funds for a soldiors' memorial. The sum of was voted to. the JohnEonvUlo Epidemic Committee. Mr. David Fisher irae appointed an extra 'ranger for the district.
