(Rec. Juno 10, 8.40 p.m.) . ' ' Sydney, June ill. ' A,series of tragedies has occurred.during the few days. At Leichardt a returned soldier nanicd Jacobs, shot dead Mrs. Eees, with whom he had been- living, and then committed suicide. At Surrey Hills Mrs. Anderson was shot dead,, supposedly by her husband, a returned soldier, who. is missing. At Orange, a man named Fostor shot and dangerously wounded his wlfo and then committed suicide. In Melbourne a hian named Turpenny stablied his wifo to death with a butcher's knife. Tho bodv of an unknown man was found on the roof of a railway carriage. It is sns'pected that he was murdered.— Press Assn. ■
