, MEMORIAL IN RUGBY CHAPEL. '' A memorial'to Rupert Brooke in Rugby school Chapel was unveiled recently by General Sir lan Hamilton, under whom Rupert Brooke served in Uallipoli in the Naval Division. The memorial consistti of a, low relief, in white marble, of the head.and shoulders! , Under the relief, on the lower half of the marble panel, 13 carved the sonnet, "If I aho.ild dio, think only this of me. . ..." This memorial is by Mr. J. Havafd Thomas, and is a singularly beautiful piece, of work—warm, delicate, and sympathetic. Tho head is in'profile,, facing lett boing finely set off both by the 6emi-clrcular outline of tho upper parts of the marble panel and by the colouring of the letters in. the .long inscription, below. Tho inscription, was carved by Mr. Eric' Gill.' After the unveiling and Sir lan Hamilton's address there was a:memorial con-' cert in tho 4 Teinple Speech.' Room, at whioh was given .aii'elegy for stringed o'fehestra— composed at Oallipoli: in 1915, in' memory of Runert Brooke, by his friend, the late- Lieutenant-Commander V. S. Kelly, R.N.V.K. The memorial was presented to the school by subscribers in all parts of England and in Canada and Auverfca.whei'Q Rupert Brooko made I many friends during his tour in 1913-U. It was at that time that.ho wroto his. "Letters from America," which were first published in the "Westminster Gazette."
