jl ' i. MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. ";; • The Management Committee of the Wellington Kugby Union met last evening, Mr. W. Hornig presiding. There were also presont: Messrs. 15. Pern', J. PrendeviKe, W. W. Cook, J. N. Millard, W. 11. Donovan, S. Jackson, E, Howard, A, J. Griffiths. J. Lundon, and H. Buck. In connection with the Maori (Pioneers) match aonio correspondence was received from the management of the touring team respecting their share of tho gate and the payment of their expenses. Tho chairman pointed out that the Athletic Park trustees decided to pay tho visiting team's share of the gate, Jill, to the New Zealand Rugby Union for settlement. The expenses of the visiting team amounted to Mf> Us., and these are to be paid by- tho, M ,lor 's out of their share of the gate. It was decided to writo to tho New Zealand Union explaining the position, and recommending a settlement with the Maoris. ' It was decided to write to the _ Hutt Borough Council requesting permission to charge for admission to the Hutt Park for certain matches during the season. In connection with the interprovincial programme (already published) the match with Auckland to be played in the northern oity is now fixed for August 9 instead af August. 16. ..■'.' A letter was received from the King Country Rugby Union requesting tho union to arrange for its representative team to play a match at Taumarunui on the way to Auckland. It decided to. write to the Country Union asking if they' could meet the. visiting- team's expenses, and if August 11 would suit for the gamo. The chairman said it would not be posslMe to play a match'en route to Auckland, consequently it was decided to arrange for the mntxih on the return journey so long as tho Country Union could gjiaranteo expenses. The question of junior representative matches was mentioned, and it was decided to arrange for two with -the Wmirarapa Union, one to be played on August 23 at Wellington and the other on Septembor 6 at Carterton. ■ The special genoral meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union called for June 17 to consider the question of amended rules has 'been postponed pending tho receipt of information from the English Rugby Union.
