A "NEW FRENCH PARTY"
4 SEVEN POINTS OF DEMOCRATIC PROGRAMME. The Paris Socialist journal "La Democratic Nouvellc" recently published a manifesto inviting all Frenchmen to join together for the immediate constitution of a party of the "new democracy." The signatories spoke of'the grave perils of the future, "against which," they said, "the politicians who now govern us do not guarantee us." They propose to act on the following programme :— 1. The conclusion of an advantageous peace, with reparations. 2. The reform of "our vicious system of government." it. The increase of the population. 4. The encouragement of industrial and agricultural production. 5. The iiuprovsMucnt of the conditions of all workers. 6. The combating of immorality.. 7. The revision of the Constitution, which they place above all other objects.
