NEW ZEALANDERS AGAIN BEATEN. (Rec. Juno 9; 10.45 p.m.) Sydney, June 9. The second League lootball match between New South Wales and New Zealand was played to-day in t'lie presoncc of nearly fifty thousand people. From the start the game was hard and forceful, tho visitors' weight frequently giving them tho advantage in close work, but this was more than counter-balanced by the speed of tho Welsh-men in the open. The only change in the home team was that Johnston replaced Halloway. A few minutes after the commencement a rush by the New Zealanders enabled M'Gregor to score a try, which was not .converted. After a deal of open play, Harder seoured the ball, and crossed the lino after a great run, Oxford converting. A few minutes later Oxford kicked a. penalty goal. Some hard and rough play followed, and Barge scored a try, which was not. converted, making the half-time scores: ' New South Wales ifl New- Zealand 3 On resuming, tho New Zealanders brought the ball smartly down, and Milchcll, who had taken the placo of Laing, scored, but Hie try was not converted. Another penally goal was kicked by Horder. '1 hen Mitchell mado a fine run and crossed the line, hut the. try was not converted. During some rough play that followed, M'Cartl.i.y, a New South 'Wales back, was injured and removed.
