During the discussion on Sir John M'Call's paper at the Society of Arts, Sir Thomas Mackenzie (High Commissioner for New Zealand) condemned tho exploitation of woollen, goods in Britain, where tho i price of goods -was fourfold tho pre-war price, whereas New Zealand was only charging 55 per cent, over tho pre-war prico for wool. Sir Thomas Mackenzie" pointed out that America was selling tweeds at 3s. per yard under the English price, though tho American manufacturer paid much more than tho English for wool. The British Government was the only authority able to successfully investigate the matter—Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
