General orders issued at the London Headquarters of the Mew Zealand Expeditionary Force announce that the i'ollovrinj» Rumanian decorations have been awarded to New Zealauders:—Chevalior, Crown of Ku'mania, Lieutenant (temp. Captain) T. H. Dickinson, N.Z. Cyclist Battalion;' Croix de Virtitle Alilitara, 2nd Class, Sl/M Sergeant T. Eussoll, Otatfo Mounted Rifles.

The deep respect in which the late Mr. John Ilott was held was evidenced by the large attendance at his funeral yesterday afternoon.. Tlie cortege left "his late residence ■ in Bullcr Street for the Terrace Congregational Church at 2 p.m., and afterwards proceeded to. the Karori Cemetery. The service at the Church, which was well filled, where Mr. 1 lot I had been iv deacon for twenty-five years, was conducted by the liev. J. Tieed G!a»60ii. who wa,s assisted b.v Mr. J. Uunigay, an old friend of the deceased. The sorvice at the graveside was conducted by the lfev. Mr. Glasson. The late Mr. Holt had always taken the warmest interest in the affairs of the Y.M.C.A. in •New Zealand, and the National C'ominitteo was represented by Messrs. It. y. Kcrslcy. C. M. Luke, A. Varney (general secretary), and E. C. Brownell. Thn local association was- represented bv the Hon.' J. G. VT. Aitkcn, M.L.C.,' and Messrs. Thomas T'orsyth. D. Brown, C. F. Falconer, FI. C. South, W. ('treig, E. ]'. 'Hay, W. Allen, and S. G.-.Cresswell (secretary). Captain J. Henry (inspector) represented the S.J'.C.A. Society (of which the deceased was a former president). The three Wellington daily newspapers anil the Journalists' Institute were also represented. Mr. J. M. A. Holt, only son of the deceased, was (he chief mourner. Among the many beautiful floral tributes forwarded were wreaths from ihc proprietaries of the three local papers, the "01-ago "Daily Times." "T.yHellon Times,'' "New Zealand Herald," and scl eral other papers. -

Old members of the Zealandia Hides, the Second and Tenth South _ African Contingents, and tho Legion of Frontiersmen will bo grieved to hear of the. death at I'almerslon' North Hospital on June i of Corporal M. J. Molloumbv, of the Eleventh Reinforcements. The deceased returned from France about a year ago. He developed tuberculosis, the result of being slightly gassed, and gradually declined. He was one uf the founders of the New Zealand Natives' Association, from which sprang (he Zealandia Rifles, and for the latter he was one of the team which won the New Zealand championship for physical drill and manual and bayonet exercises. On vhe outbreak of the South African AVar he enlisted willi the Second Contingent.-and became quartermaster-sergeant, going over again willi tho Tenth Contingent, anil returning with commissioned rank, lie had some difficulty in getting accepted for the Great War, but ultimately succeeded, and not waiting for a commission, got away as a trooper with the Eleventh Reinforcements. lie was buried with military honours at Palmerston North on AA T ednesda.v, and among those present were representatives of the Soulh African Second' Contingent, Eleventh Reinforcements, and the old Zealandia Rifles. Much sympathy is felt for Miss N. Molioumby, of I'almerston North, in the loss of her only brother.

Mr. Andrew F. Rule, son of the Rev. F. Rule, of Christehureh, who for the past three years has been studying at tho Princetown University. U.S.A., preparatory to entering the Ministry of. the Presbyterian Church, has passed the final examination for the B.D. degree, and has secured the (Sfesloii-TVindi-hron Fellowship in Apologetics.' He has been appointed Professor of Philosophy at AVicliesta University, Kansas. Mr. Rule, who was a prominent member of the St. Andrew's Young Men's Bible Class, was educated at the Christehureh Boys' High School, and later at Canterbury College, where he gained his M.A. degree. Mr. Armnd M'lvellar, general manager (it the Blackball Coal Company, who has been visiting Auckland and liotorua on a holiday trip, left for Chrislehnrch by the Maori last night. Mr. T. R. Wallace, who is at present visiting the South Island, will return to. AA'ellington early .next week. Air. J. A. Ross, law clerk, Palmerston North, was yesterday admitted a solicitor of tho Supreme Court by Mr. Justice Hosting, on the application of Mr. Oswald Beere. •; ' Mr. H. Bolton, Acting-Director of the Wellington Technical College, has been laid aside for two days past with a severe cold. .Mr. Charles AYadnian, well known in moving picture circles in "Wellington, is to leave for America by the Moana tonight on business connected with a local patent for the prevention of film on a reel taking fire.
