The following is published in this weeks-Gazette:—"The Auckland Harbour Board have notified that the black and white horizontally striped apherioal buoy now marking Rough Rock-in Rangitoto Channel is to be removed, and in place of it a beacon will be eroded on the pin. nacle of Bough Rock, which will consist of an iron tripod with a '-barrel-shaped surmount with black and vfhito horizontal stripes. THE OITY OF faoNKIRK. . . The A. and A. -Co/a steamer City of Dunkirk arrived at Auckland from New York on Wednesday, aftor a smart passage of 24 days from Panama. She left New York on May 1 and experienced fine weather to Auckland. The City of Dunkirk is a steel screw steamer of 5861 tons gross, and was • built in 1912 by 'Barclay, Curio, and Co., Glasgow. Sho is a fairly fast 6teamer for a tramp, end can travel at 12 knots loaded with IO.OCO' tons. Her furnaces are suitable for either oil or CC^L .V can be changed to suit either while the vessel is at sea. She carries both kinds of fuel, and although sho came from New York burning oil, sho will probably cross the Taßman Sea usine- coal. During the war'the City of Dunkirk was utilised as a troopship between England ARu tho Continent until sho whs wrcckcd i on the coast of Spain while hugging the shore to avoid enemy submarines. Sho was three weeks on .tho-rockß before sho I was salvaged and taken to Gibraltar It was seven months before she was patched i ■up sufficiently ..to make the trip lo Eng; land. Her bow to the' bridge was bent up In such a manner that she had to bo filled inside with cement to make'her Boaworthy enough for tho trip. She . was laid up for eight months at Manchester undergoing extensive repairs. This is her first voyage since she was repaired. After discharging the 2000 t-ons of cargo' she haa for Auckland, she will -proceed on Wednesday to Wellington Lyttelton, and Dunedin. From tho lastrmentioned port she v/ill go on to gj'dncy. THE MOICOIA. The-Mokoia is to leave Dunedin to-day for Lyttelton, from which port she will' sail for Wellington on Monday. On Tuesday sho will leave this port for Auckland •via Napier and Gisborno, taking passengers. KARAMEA FOR NEW ZEALAND, The Shaw. Savill, and Albion Company advise that tho Karamea has been flxed( to leave the United Kingdom this month for Auckland, Wellington, .and New Plymouth. TAHITI LEAVES LONDON. ' A departure from London on' May 24 was the Tahiti; with a draft of troops totalling 1216 aboard. She ib due at Auckland about July 16.
