At the annual meeting of the 'South Tsland Dairy Association the chairman, Mr. Middletoii, said v tlie operations of the association had led to a satisfactory deal regarding the cheese ! output. The meeting decided that, the-executive should take steps to provide the secretary with assistance, leaving him free (o carry into effect the policy of tlio association. / The meeling decided to recommend dairy factories to promote the formation of lienl-tcsting associations; also that A. and P. associations in the South Island be strongly urged to hold bull fairs in a suitable month each year, and that M ner cent, of the Government stud bulls be' distributed for sale at these fairs. The following motion was carried: "That the outlook in the near future for shinning freights on all farm produce is n serious menace to tho prosperity of New Zealand: and it is imperative tbi't all dairy and meat export companies combine, for their common defence and 'support a fair rate of freight, and that the executive move in this direction at onre." A committee was set up to report to a special mMin? on the question of a co-operative London floor.
