During the year the council ■;■ invested.J2so in war -certificates, this '■ with previous amounts taken up totalling 1: of war bonds and certificates held ! by the association. . The income-far the , !'. twelve months exceeded the expenditure ; by'• .£149 18s. Id., while the amount of 1. accumulated .funds of the association i. stands at £U6l 7s. 3d. ' , i ■ The council has given effect to the j resolutions-passed at the last special j general meeting of members with referI ence to the 'admission of the Eomney ''■'• flocto ■ registered in the New Zealand V flock Book (South Island). All the re- ! gietered Romney breeders wero invited to ! .-' npply for admission, and so far 85 have , i expressed their desire to join. Of these ! 67 .are floclcs- which will appear for the I first time in the association's volumes, i the other IS flocks being already included I in the book, as the owners have been I registered in both associations. This j . only, leaves 33 Rqmney floclcs entered in i the South Island Flock Book, and it ■' is anticipated that the majority of these I wjll register before DecembenSl next, the i date it was decided to Rive the southern ' - Romney breeders to enrol. ■ In addition ' to these new flocks, the council has passi ed for registration 69 fresh flocks which i have been started on transfers from ex- '< -isting- registered' flocks. This number j•' easily constitutes a. record year for the i association. ■ • . i . The Wheeler Memorial Shield for the ! best Roraney ram bred in New Zealand !
