Mr. Albert Goldie, a former Australian journalist, arrived by the Niagara, bring, ing. a letter from tho Las Aiigelca Chamber of Commerce, bearing an invitation to similar organisations in New Zealand to co-operato in establishing direct steamship communication between Los Angeles and ports in Australia and New Zealand, with an interchange ot products. Tho Los Angeles Harbour Hoard appointed Mr. Goldie special commissioner to investigate tho possibility of securing sufficient cargoes to justify a regular-servico between the ports mentioned.
