EXPECTED VOTE FOB RESUMPTION BRISBANE HOLDS BACK Sy Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright Sydney, May 31. The Seamen's Union in Sydney has approved the plebiscite. The opinion is expressed that a ballot will • result in an overwhelming majority in favour of the resumption of work. BRISBANE MEN REFUSE TO BALLOT. ' Brisbane, May 81. The Seamen's Union has refused to takea plebiscite on the question bf submitting the trouble to arbitration, and lias declined to man the ships until the demands receive attention. VICTORIA ALSO STANDS OUT. (llec. Juno 1, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, May 31. The Victorian seamen have joined the Queensland decision to ignore the ballot, but the New South Wales men are confident that an overwhelming number favour tho resumption of work, and will be able to out-vote the other branches.— Press Assn.
