TRINITY METHODIST CHURCH
The forty-seventh anniversary of tho Trinity Methodist ■ Church, Wellington South, concluded on "Wednesday evening, the Rev. E. Drake occupying the chair. Thore was a large attendance. The report," which was optimistic in tone, was read by Mr. C. E. Luxford. Reference was made to the conclusion of tho war and its effect on church life. The attendance at church services "had been well- maintained,, and the various organisations of the church.it was stated, were In n healthy condition. Appreciation was expressed of the work of the choir under Mr; J; \V. Buchanan, and thanks were tendered to Mrs. Webb for her valuable help.' Owing to the depletion of tho Board of Trustees, by death and other causes, twelve new: names had been, add,ed during the year. The-church memI bersliip roll showed that, six had died during tho'- year,: one being killed in action,'. and <24 . had. been transferred to other circuits; 33 had been leaving a total membership of 199, with 59 juniors.-''Good- work had been done by the Ladies' Guild an working for the Red Cross Soeiety.'Tho property balance-sheet showed an -income of .C 592 9s. 2d., leaving a credit of JEW 12s. Gd. The general income showed: Collection, £m is. 8d ; Foreign Missions, £oO Is. lOd.; Soldiers'' Comforts and Red Cross Society, JBIB 4s. 6d.; Homo Missions, <£23 17s. 10d.; Island Bay Furnishing Account, .£SO, making a-total incomo of £1164 7s. 9d. The following programme was submitted —Solo, "Summer," Miss Castle; solo "The Swallows," Mrs. Hellanv; solo, "Melisando in the Wood," Miss Bai eyj violin solo, Mr. C. Bowker; solos. Beyond the Dawn" and "An Old-fashioned Wn," Mr. E. Burd; solo, "Dawn Skies," Miss Voyce; solos, "The Floral Dance" and "The Requiem, Mr. L. Daniell. '' ______
