Messrs. Wright, Stephenßon, and Oo„ Ltd., report having offered a, large yarding of sheep and a, fair entry of cattle at the Colombo Road yards, Masterton, on Wednesday. There was a good demand for grown sheep, but lambs met with a dragging sale. Vendors, however, accepted the prices offered and a total clearance was made. Quotations:—Fat and forward cwcb, to Ms.; forward ewes, 23b. 6d.: small two-tooth wethers, 235. 6d. to 24a. 2d.; cull eweß, lis.; woolly wether lambs, Be. 2d. to Ba. 7d.; Btore cows. £5 10s. to £5; one and a half-year heifers, £2 ss. to £4 10s.; ono and a half-year steers, £3 to £4 12a.; bulls, £5. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Oorapanj, ltd., report on their weekly Masterton sale held en Tuesday:— We had a fair entry of sheep and a small entry of cattle. Sheep sold at about usual rates. Two-tooth wethers, 26b.; s.ru. ewes in lamb, Bs. 3d. to 10s. 10d.; store cows, £5 4s. After investing one hundred pounds oil top-dressing fertiliser for his grass, one farmer flays: "It is better titan lending money at 6 per cent."
