EMPRESS THEATRE. "Tho Sorrows of Satan," a dronmligation of Marie Corolli's famous novel, featuring Gladys Cooper, will lye screened for the last timo to-night at the Empress Theatre. For to-morrow's change a bifir double bill will be screened, including Charles Chaplin in a burlesque of the grand opera "Carmen." It is a matter of rare occurrence that picture patrons are able to see in tho one programme Charlie Chaplin and one of his imitator- in the juvenile actor Chip Monahnn. It is stated that this is one of the funniest pictures Chaplin has ever appeared in. The second attraction will be "Vainly and Sables," one 0. Henry's stories, featuring Wallace Macdonakl and,- Mildred Manning. The drama is most artistically staged and mounted, and is said lo be full of stirring incidents. A strong list of items will be shown in support. In addition, Mr. Melvin will sing "A Light That's Burning in the Window." KING'S THEATRE. To-night will be the final opportunity of seeing "The Death Dance' at tho King's Theatre. This is a strong feature, and has been showing lo crowded houses. Alice Brady is featured in the leading role. Another feature play has been arranged for screening, commencing at the matinee to-morrow.' lies Beach's stories he.ve always been most popular, and "Laughing Bill- Hyde" will, it is promised, prove as thrilling and entertaining a c ever. This picture was personally directed by Rex Beach, wlio secured the famous comedian Will Rogers to fill tho part of "Laughing Bill Hyde." The story is consistently good right through, and has plenty of heartinterest. Another pleasing attraction will be Mr. Will Goudie, the well-known baritone, who will sing "Friend of Mine" and "A Song of the Air Service.' Tho music to be played by the King's Orchestra has been specially selected. EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. "The Better 'Ole" will be finally screened at Everybody's Theatre to-night. Last evening, when the "House full" notice went up, there were hundreds of people requiring to get in. The big feature for screening to-morrow is "The Eternal Sin," an adaptation of the famous work by Victor Hugo. It is a powerful, forceful story of mother-love and of hatred and desire for revenge, and, the Teaming" purity and strength of a mother's loTe for her unrecognised son. Another big attraction has been secured in Mhs Bathie Howe-Stewart, the young and talented entertainer. She will perform a musical sketch, entitled "Before and After Marriage," a dainty little character song, and a Maori song. WELLINGTON HARMONIC SOCIETY. ■ A splendid rehearsal and a rapidlyfilling box plan augurs well for a very successful concert by the above society to-morrow evening at 8 o'clock in the Concert. Chamber, Town Hall. Tho so ciety, under the condnctorship of Mr. H. Temple White, ia singing as well as ever, and the choice of part-songs for this concert is ono that will test its capabilities in even- direction. As usual, Ihe majorit,v of the work will be unaccompanied, and' includes such gems a? Elgar's "As Torrents in Summer"; Stewart's ,'irrangohient of "The Bolls of St. Michael's Tower"; "The Dawn of Song" (Baivstow), and "How 'Sweei tho Moonlight bleeps" (Leslie), while Robertson's arrangement of a'Scottish air, "A Waukin 0" (words by Robert Bums) is expected to captivate'the music lovers. Accompanied by Mr. Harold Whittle, the eo cietv will render 'Tar Away'from every Pleasure" (Bishop) and "A Song of the Sea" (Challinor), a stirring choral ode, i which will be the concluding item. The. society's made quartet, ,which beat all comers at the 'competitions last February, will -contribute their competition number,-' The Long Day Closes" /SulhTanl and "In A'bsence" .(Dudley Buck). A change from tho vocal music will be supplied by an instrumental quartet, whose item's are ' "Hungarian Dance (Brahms) • and "Minuet" (Beethoven). Tickets may be obtained and rents re served at the.
