May 29, 5.35 p.m.) 1 Copenhagen, May 27. • The German newspapers contain the text of the counter-proposals. ■ These declare :— That Germany is willing to reduce armaments more than the Allies demand; That Germany will propose a special Commission of all the belligerents to settle territorial and colonial questions, and deal with the League of Nations; That Germany will definitely decline to surrender Upper, Silesia or any part of Prussia,; That Germany will demand that Danzig shall be a free port, and'the Vistula neutralised; That Germany will offer to assume the direction of the-German colonies under the Leaß'ie of Nations, That Germany will refuse to accept the punishment terms; '■ ""' That Germany is ready to give an inaeninity of one hundred milliard marks in gold, and a further twenty milliards before' 1920.-Aus.-N.Z.
