GENERAL BIRDWOOD MENTIONED. (Rec. May 29, 8 p.m.) London, Jfav 17 (delayed). The "Weekly Dispatch" says that if Sir Douglas Hah; declines the command in India the choice will bo made between Sir W. R, Birdwood and Sir Harry Rawlinson. The former is also mentioned for the Governorship of New Zealand, aflpr visiting Australia about autumn.—United Service.
