Tho question of providing a hotter roading system in the Dominion was discussed at the Farmers' Union Conference to-day, when the following remits were carried:—(l) That tho union, in conjunction with the Good Roads Association, should take immediate steps to urge upon the .Government the necessity for taking control of arterial roads and to-thoroughly investigate the Victorian system of road with a view to securing better administration of public money than in the past. (2) That the Government be asked to libeially subsidise all main arterial roads pending investigation- of the Victorian system.
