At the annual dinner of the Manchester Technology Association Mr. J. C. Maxwell Gurnett, principal of the Collego of Technology, directed epecial attention alike to the backwardness of England compared with America and Central Europe in the encouragement given to the study of science and technology, and to tho awakening of the leaders to aomei sense of the present requirement.
