The. King has approved that Ihc honour of knighthood bo conferred upon Mr. Patrick Quinn, M.V.O. Mr. Quinn entered the London Polico Force as a constable, and was for nine or ten years in the uniformed section of the force. Ho was one of the first men to be selected for service in the "Special" branch of tho C.1.D., which was entrusted to a large extent with political Investigation. 'As the Superintendent, Special Branch, Criminal Investigation 'Department at New Scotland Yard, he has bfJn attached for duty to the suite of foreign Sovereigns during their official visits to Britain, and has been tho recipient of many foreign Orders and decorations. He was made M.V.O. in 1907. Ho is the sou of the late Mr. J. Quiun, of County Mayo.
