Tlio fortnightly meeting of the Society lor the Prevention- of Cruelly to Animals was held last evening. 'The president (Mr. P. Aleadowerpft) occupied the chair. -The inspector's repurl: dealt with 3 horses destroyed, 2 with sores, & lame,-2.overloading, 2 poor condition, 1 dog and 1 cat destroyed. Two cases of alleged cruelly are to be brought before the Court. A letter regarding shooting of wild geese was received and ■forwarded to the Airland S.P.C.A. for their remarks. A letter complaining of the sleep grades'of new roads now boing formed, with special mention of the road near Hataitai Tunnel, was received from "A Mere Woman." It was decided to draw the attention of lire Citj Council to tho nihilcr. Subscriptions received amounted to .£l4 Cs., including .El Is. each from Messrs. A. do B. Evandoii, P. Maeassey, and Dominion Laboratory staff; end .C\ from "A Mtre Woman."
