Ah agreement has, says an Australian exohanEe, been concluded between tha Ounard Steam Ship Company, Ltd.. and the .holders of £150,000 ordinary shares iri Messrs. T. and J. Brocklebank, owners of the Anchor-Brocklebanl: Line, Liverpool. The shares in question will be transferred to the Cunard Company, Ltd., in exchange for 150.DC0 ordinary shares of £1 each iii that company. The total issued ordinary capital of Messrs. T. i,nd J. Brocklebank. Ltd., is £250,000. nnd the remainihe £100,000 of this' are held by tlio Anchor Lino (Henderson Bros.), Ltd., whjlo all the ordinary shares in the Anchor Lino are owned by the Cunard Company, Ltd. This transaction (involves an increasu in tho Issued ordinary share capital of the Cunard Company from £1,335,383, to £1,435,383, as against 'the total amount of £2.000,000 already authorised by the. .shareholders. Tho directorate and management of Messrs. T. and J. Brocklebank will remain unchanged, while the agreement securcs a- complete community of .interests between these firms. Messrs. T. and J. Brocklebank, Ltd., registered as a company in 1898, to acquire the business of steamship owners of th& firm of tho same name. In 1892 the enmpnny scoutrcd the Calcutta, trade rlchu of the Anchor Line, toKothcr with four of their steamers in exchance for a considerable holding of shares, and in 1915 it also ncouirpd a majority of tho shores in-tho Well Line, Ltd. Salmond and Sprastzon arc, .seento for the schooner Louis Thoriault, which 1b now in port from Melbourne. Tho vessel will probably be berthed today to unload a full cargo of superphosphates. The Louis Theriault has been fixed to load a freieht of timber lor Melbourne.

Tho local oflico of the Commonwealth and Dominion Line has received advice from London stating that the Ounard Lino has purchased a new steamer, No. 477, from the British' Admiralty, for delivery in three months; The.new steamer (b a fine vessel of about 7COO tons gross, and somewhat similar to the Port Chalmers. She is to be placed in the Australian service, and will be named Port Curtis.SAILERS FUOM PACIFIC- SLOPE. The sohooner Forester, 698 tons, and Lily, 135 tons, are reported to have sailed from San Francisco on Maroh 30, and April 19 respectively, for Dunedin, with case oil for the Vacuum Oil Company. From Vancouver it reports that- the i barquentine Laura left t-hore on April 30 for Wellington. CROSBY 'H/ILL FROM AMERICA. Yesterday the New Zealand and African S.S. Company stated that advice had been received about the ■ EVlerman-Buoknall steamer Crosby Hall, which left New York on April 22, for Wellington and Lyttelton, according to reports. The vessel, is under the control of the American and Australian Line, and left Panama on April 29, but for what destination tho advice did not say» As tho vessel is a few days overdue on a passage from the Canal to Wellington, it is considered that sho is loaded for Australian ports. THE WESTMORELAND. The unloading of the general and cheese cargo of the Westmoreland at Port Chalmers iB proceeding satisfactorily, and a fair amount has been lifted. The NewZealand and African 00. advise that tho frozen meat portion of her cargo will be transhipped to the Remnera, starting on Friday. WHAKATANE FOR LOADING. The, Whakatane (N.Z. Shipping Co.) is undorgoing repairs and, refitting at Port Ohalmers, and will be there for another few days. Tho vessel will then go to New Plymouth to commence Home loading, later coming to Wellington, via Picton. Wellington Radio Station adviseß that tho following vessels will bo with,in wireless range to-night:—ilolcoia, Moana, and Tofua, and the Wcllington-Lyttelton ferry steamers. ■The following vessels were expected to bo in wireless range of Auokland last mailt:—Wanaka, Kauri, and Roggeneen. The Putiki will sail to-day for Dunedin and Timaru. The Bhamo -will now sail on Thursday fov London,' via Suez. The Ripple completed tho loading of l'er cargo yesterday, and sailed last night for the East Coast. The Rlaokball Coal Company's N?ahers will sail at noon to-day for Greymouth to load for Tokomaru Bay.
