Prices were as follow:—2J to 3-year steers, £8: 22-months steers, £5 35.; f.ra. ewes,' lis. At Manaia, on May 20, we haxl a fair yarding of stock', which changed hands at late rates. Forward cows. £7.175. to i £8-175.; store oows, £4 15s. to. £6 IDs. 9d.; boners, £3 12s. to £4 55.; empty, heifers. £5. On May 21 we hold a successful sale at, Alton, on account of Mr Charles Amos, who is leaving the district, llis' small ; herd of dairy cows made >611 10s. to £18; empty cows, £5 ss. to £7 165.; fat lambs, i £1 Os. 6(3.; wcaner heifers. £1 lis,; 20months in-calf heifers, £8 10a. . At Palmer Road, on May 23, we had a small yardimr of cattle, -which sold at late rates. Prices were as follow:—Forward oows, £7 15s. to £8 165.; store cows, £5 19s. to £6 10s., boners, £1 7s. 6il. At Waverloy, on May 2i, wo liad a small yardinu; 4-tooth wethers, £1 2s. Gd.; wcaner pigs, 10s. The absence of shipping and the consequent inactivity of the freezing companies still continue to have an adverse Influence on yardings and prices of stock.
