AUCKLAND TRAMWAYMEN

AN ULTIMATUM. By Telegraph—Press Association. ' Auckland, May 26. The advisory „ board of the Transport Federation has intimated it will handle the Aucjdand tramway officers' dispute from now onwards, taking whatever steps are deemed necessary to effect a satisfactory issue. Members of the Auckland Tramway Officers' Union decided at a meeting tonight to cease work if the dispute between the union and the company is not settled within fourteen days. Intimation to this effect is being sent to the company and has already been signed by the majority of the members of the union. As the union comprises the power-house staff, car and ticket inspectors, their ceasing work would entail a stoppage of the tramway service.
