A' Comparison of Kindergartens,
Speaking at last night's annual meeting of tho Wellington Free Kindergartens, Mr. W. Ferguson said that when in Auckland ho visited the Myers and tho Campbell Kindergartens. The result (>t his visit was to make him feel very disheartened. So much was done for tha children in Auckland and so littlo here. In Auckland tho grounds about theso kindergartens were beautifully laid out, and their situations were all that could lie desired. All kinds of swings and playiiig apparatus had been provided for tho children, and; not only that but a super, inteiulent to watch over them and teach thorn concerted play had been appointed. Such a state of things did not exist in Wellington. Tho kindergartens here should bs far better supported than they wore.
Commenting upon his remarks, Mrs. Dixon said that Auckland was. far moro generous in giving to worthy causes than Wellington was. As one who 'had lived in both cities, she could speak from knowledge. Possibly Wellington people found the struggle for cxistonco morn acute than it was in the. former city, and as a consequenco were not so openhearted. At any rate the difference wa9 marked.
Dr. Agnes Bennett returned to New Zealand by tho l'aparoa, and at tho present time is staying with Mr. and Mrs. W. Ferguson. \
