ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
A rather serious accident occurred at tho Petone Railway Station yesterday morning on the arrival of tho 7.45 train from Lower Hutt. A Man named Maxwell, who is a ciwponter employed in tho maintenance department of the railways, was travelling on the train, and on its stopping at Petone alighted on the wrong side. When crossing the truck he was knocked down by the engine of nn incoming train from Wellington. The unfortnate man, who sustained n broken leg and internal injuriw. was attended to by Dr. Harding, who ordered his removal to Wellington Hospital. . NATIVE.CHILD DIES FROM SCALDS.
