LIVE STOCK SALES
THo flr6t annual sale inaugurated by the Hereford breeders of the Wairarapa wa3 held in the Oolomhii Road ealeyards, Mobtorton, on Wednesday. Tho sale was conducted by tho local auctioneering flrme, acting in conjunction. Moet of the bulls yarded were in first-rate condition, and many of them wore of exceptianal Quality. There wae a largo attendance- of the public, but although there was a generally expressed appreciation of tho stock offered there were comparatively few buyers, ai;d bidding was by no means animated. The season and the exceptional conditions pre: vailing doubtless contributed to this. Prices realised were ae follow:—Stud bull, on account Mr. Donald M'Kenzie, lOOsne. Herd bulls: On account of Mr. Donald M'Kenzie, 40 to %ns.; on account of Mr. Oeorec Allen, 15, 18, 20, M, to SOgns.; on. account of Mr. J. Oarne Bidwlll, 20 to' 25;ne.; on account of Annedalo Station, l» 25i;nfl.; on account of Mr. Neil M'Kay, 15, 20, 25, 27, to 30gns.; on account of Mesers. Percy Bros., 40gns. Stud cows: On account of Mr. Donald M'Keuzic, 39 and Wgm. ; on account of , tho estate H. James, 26 to 35gna. Stud heifers: On account of Mr. Donald M'Kenzie, 38 to 40jns.
