WOUND BADGES

The conditions under which tlio distinction in dress for wounds may bo worn are laid down in General Orders. Officers, soldiers, nurses, and the members of certain other organisations nro eligible. The wounds must have been received since August f, 19U, and must have been reported in an official casualty list, or (in the caee of wounds caused by enemy action in British territory) by the general officer in command of n home command. Accidental and self-indicted injuries do not qualify. Gas and shell-shock do qualify. The distinction may be worn on civilian clothing after discharge or retirement. Doubtful cases may be adjudicated by the general officer commanding the New Zealand Forces.
