William Montague Davenport Howes, aged 70 years, was found guilty in the Supreme Court of an unnatural offence and sentenced to ten years' imprison.ment. Mr. Justice' Stringer said it was his duty to segregate the accused fronl decent human beings. Ho realised that the accused would probably die in gaol, but he could appeal to thn'Prisohsßaan! if ho wished. He would havo been entitled to send accused to Raol for lile.
