WOMEN'S NATIONAL RESERVE
MUDICAL SERVICE DIVISION. The rtfserve . under its reconstructed "constitution and rules" is very actively organising tile medical service division. A section formation has been organised— (!) lo consist of all persons voluntarily enrolling for service and instruction in the several technical sections designated "the medical service corps"; (2) detachments, under their several commanders and superintendents, will lie formed for service and properly trained, in readiness to co-operate with, and-assist tho Public Health Department in periods of epidemics, more especially the spheres of sick-nursing and hygiene. Hundreds of women and girls are already provisionally formed and undergoing the necessary technical training under"'experienced-nurses provided by the' Public Heultli Department. The courses of lectures are largely attended, and much enthusiasm shown bv all the classes. The rules for the National lieserve ambuianca and nursing detachments are ready* and formations under them proceeding under Rule 1. The ol>lects arc: To meet emergency demands of epidemic and war conditions by establishing hospital wards, technical -nursing, cooking schools, also trained ambulance detachments, sick nursing classes supplementary to the regular establishments. The distinguishing vbadge of tile medical service sections Will be worn 011 ail armlet abovo tho elbow 011 the right sleeve. A provisional administrative committee for the Wellington Centrn lias been formed, of which Mrs. James t'indlav is the head.
