THE MOUNTED MEN IN EGYPT
. Sir,—l pen these few lines a3 a protest against the mounted men being kept longer in Egypt and Palestine. It is per- / fectly evident .that the military authorities have never , been subjected to a summer in the above'climes or they would send transports at once to bring the men home. Two steamers would be sufficient sfor ■ the number of men there, if official , figures . are correct. . Why . .not divert two > boats from the Home run, where our men are at least in a healthy climate, and bring the troopers back before they are all prostrate with malaria again, as so many of them have already been? . . There is ho mistake, the mounted men have been, and arc being, very badly treated, after offering their all to fight for our Empire.—l am, etc., SAND AND HEAT.' .
