NEW TRAINING SHIP

TO REPLACE THE AMOKUBA. Some time ago it was announced by the Minister of Marine (the Hon, T, Sj. Wilford) that the Admiralty had promised to give the New Zealand Government it ship to take- the place of the Amokura to servo as a training ship for hoys.wishing to enter the mercantile marine. The Amokura is at present not considered to be seaworthy, and the boys have not been out of port for about a year. Mr. Wilford said yesterday that the two ships offered by the Admiralty wevo not suitable for the Dominion's requirements, and that it had been decided tlint.. Captain Hooper, of the Amokura, should no home to England, select a ship if possible, suitable to our needs, and bring the ship to New Zealand.
