INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION
I MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Wellington'lndustrial Association was held last evening. 1 Mr. 11. Mainland presided, over a /fair attendance. The question of assisting returned sol : diers came up for discussion as the result of something 'in the minutes, and tho chairman urged that after all it was the small things that counted. If one soldier could be assisted it was weii worth while to assist him. That sentiment had been well expressed by Genoral Russell tho other day. The association: could not hope to _ achieve everything in ono stroke, but it ought to do all it could to contribute to the settlement of the returned poldier problem. the Peace Celebrations Committee asked the association to help in some way to make'the colcbratinns a success, it was decided to lay the matter before members. , ~ Mr. L. It. Partridge informed' Mic meeting that he had been urging the Technical College Board tu push on as fast as possible witn tho new college building. • He was in hopes that something would very shortly be done. - Tho chairman said l:lmt the Standing Committee had been "onsidering means of arousing the interest of the schoolchildren in the industiies of the country. He ihdughl it was advisable to arrange, where possible, for the children to visit factories and see the Dominion's-manu-factures being carried on. The object was to attract youths and young women •into trades that would suit their tastes.
