— FORECAST AND SUMMARY AT 4 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for south-east winds, strong to Sale, northwards of Farewell Spit 'and Kaikoura, and moderate to strong and increasing else■where. Cold and boisterouß'. weather may lie expected, vflth rain generally, and further heavy rain and mere rising in many parts of the North Island; buow on higher levels in the soutli. Barometer falling, > but rise everywhere shortly. A oyclone, now centred in the far north, has accounted for considerable rain over tho North Island and the north-east districts of tile .South, and scattered rain elsewhere.
