FEWER CASES IN AUCKLAND,
By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, May, 18. Tha influenza cases still show a steady diminution, the number of cases reported this month totalling 18 in the city and U in tho country districts—one fatal—against 73 for the first half of last month. The majority of tho cases are lyild, only one proving fatal. Four cases from the Niagara are still in quarantine, but will bo released on Monday- next. Over sixty carpenters are now vi the island, erecting half a dozen new buildings, to cope with future emergencies,
