PUBLIC DECEPTION TO-DAT
■Jlaior-General Kussell, will arrive in Wellington this morning lroni Lyttelton bv the transport Arawa. It is expected that lie will land, about 8 o'clock. The programme which had been arranged for his reception yesterday will be carried out to-day. Thero will be a luiblic reception tendered by the : members of the Government , at the Town Hall at noon, and (he Government will entertain him at Parliament liuildingp at 1.30 p.m.
General Russell will' stii.v in Wellington for the night, but he will go to Palmerston in.tiniui to taki) an early train from there on Monday to Hastings, where lie is to be accorded a local reception., He will arrive at Hastings about' midday. ' . •■
The bodyguard and guard of honour to take part in the reception to MajorGeneral liussell, K.C.M.G., will lie composed exclusively .of. .returned, soldiers, und it is expeelcd.'lhnt a large number will' take part hi the procession, which leaves*the Midland, Ifolel at 11 a.m. ]n this issue the secretary notifies members ol Hie arrangements made. 11 will be noted that special -arrangements havo been, made for cars to convey disabled men unable to walk.
